NEET hostel, food and care on campus

What NEET coaching with hostel and food looks like at RIMA: separate hostels for girls and boys, resident wardens, sattvic meals, a nurse on campus and doctors close by.

The hostel

  • Separate hostel blocks for girls and boys, each with resident wardens who live on campus.
  • Classes 9 and 10 live in a wing with its own routine at Bachenahatti.
  • No phones or gadgets for students. Families reach their child through the wardens and the campus director.
  • Visits on Sundays and fixed days, by appointment. A child is handed over to the adults named at admission, and no one else.
  • Lights-out and wake-up at the same time every day.

The food

Sattvic, completely vegetarian, balanced meals at fixed times.

  • No added sweetness, no maida and no deep-fried food.
  • Protein, vitamins and minerals, fibre and plenty of water in every day.
  • Whole fruit is encouraged.
  • At Bachenahatti, a kitchen built for daily inspection.

Why it matters: food is the first of the sixteen practices. A steady body keeps a steady mind through a long year. A doctor's view of hostel food.

Care, health and safety

Parents rank safety first. Here is who looks after your child.

Resident wardens

Trained in the Vyakti Nirman framework, they carry the daily care between doctor sessions.

A full-time nurse

A qualified nurse on campus; at Bachenahatti, a sick bay run on a doctor's protocol.

Psychologists

Qualified psychologists partner with RIMA and visit on a fixed schedule.

A medical-student mentor

One-to-one and gender-matched: girls with women mentors, boys with men.

The campus director

The one person accountable for every issue a family or student raises.

Problems are raised

Students are taught to raise problems early, never to swallow them. There are no public rank lists on campus.

Questions about hostel life

What do students eat in a NEET hostel at RIMA?

Sattvic vegetarian meals at fixed times, with no added sugar, maida or deep-fried food, and whole fruit encouraged.

Is it safe for girls?

Girls live in a separate hostel with resident women wardens, and are mentored one-to-one by women medical students. A safety checklist for any campus.

What if my child falls ill?

The nurse on campus sees them first, with doctors a call away, and you are informed.

Can I send food from home?

Packaged snacks are discouraged, because the food is part of the system. Talk to the campus director about any medical diet.

Can my child call home?

Students have no phones. Families stay in touch through the wardens and on visiting days.
